SPI research shows that the "dramatic progress" caused by the plastics of building materials is related to the utility, cost, installation convenience, service life and the tendency of the plastics industry, and new products are constantly developed to replace many stages of traditional building materials in the construction process.
"From floor to roof, inside and outside walls, plastic is the preferred product for construction sites around the world," said William R. carteaux, President and CEO of SPI. Innovation in the plastics industry has diversified products and improved their performance to match the pace of building management. New solutions have been found and used to solve such basic problems as structural integrity, energy conservation, recycling and cost savings. "In residential and commercial buildings, the main uses of plastic include roof, insulation, wall coating, doors and windows, pipes, composite "wood" (WPC) boards and railings, floor and structural packaging. According to the report, the construction management field is developing steadily for the promise of the future before it recovers its "pre recession vitality". Globally, the Chinese, Indian and US markets will be the main drivers of construction activity, as India is expected to overtake Japan as the third largest construction market between 2017 and 2022.
Over the past decade, we have seen the evolution of plastic application in building materials. It is used in extruded building materials, railings and fences; the expansion of internal and external decoration and vinyl siding; the roof tiles, wall panels and even stone products produced by injection molding seem to be a troublesome process now. Cedar rocking tiles and siding look like real objects, but there is no fire risk of wood tiles, especially in houses in forest areas. As a result, many homeowners are replacing shingles with injection molded shingles, which has the advantage of saving insurance costs.
It is not easy to accept and adopt these plastic building materials. A few years ago, several architects were most concerned that if the installation of plastic siding and roof tiles were different from that of traditional building materials, they might have to retrain their workers. Many of these injection molded building product manufacturers, as well as those that produce extruded wood plastic composite materials, adopt designs that allow traditional installation of these "disruptive" building products, which are more acceptable to architects.
